Founding Partner, Mahoney & Matthews

Sarah is a founding partner of Mahoney&Matthews, specializing in customer empathy, strategic partnering, and collaborative delivery across complex infrastructure projects. She works directly with Alliance leadership teams to build cohesive, high-performing teams that exceed expectations.

A former English teacher, Sarah served as Associate Director for Learning & Change at WSP’s Property & Buildings division (2018-2020) before providing training for major transit projects in Toronto. She excels at understanding client needs and creating safe environments where teams realize their full collaborative potential.

Since 2020, Sarah has co-led the People programme for Toronto’s Union Station Enhancement Project and designed training for Infrastructure BC’s Highway Reinstatement Programme. In 2024, her work helped the AECOM-led LiNC team successfully win the Austin Light Rail Delivery Partner bid.

Born in Cape Town and formerly the youngest girl to swim from Robben Island to mainland South Africa, Sarah brings global perspective and genuine human connection to her work building high-performing infrastructure teams.
