Dr. Pat Gallagher is the Medical Director of the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project and a member of the Alliance Management Team. A Vancouver Island native, he completed medical school at UBC and post-graduate training in New Zealand before practicing family medicine and later Emergency Medicine in the Cowichan area.
In 2015, Dr. Gallagher became Site Medical Director and Chief of Staff at Cowichan District Hospital. He first became involved in the CDHRP Concept Plan in 2016, and when the project advanced to the Business Plan phase in 2018, he transitioned to Medical Director for the hospital replacement project. Dr. Gallagher retired from clinical practice in 2022 to focus on delivering this transformational Alliance project.
